Class Cancelled Today, Wed., July 8th

Class will not be held today. However, please find today's lecture ppt. notes available in the COURSE CONTENT section of the website. (Ignore race determination and anthropometry.)
The exam will be held as scheduled tomorrow. The exam will cover chapters 7 & 8 in the lab manual. Focus on bone identification and forensic techniques for sex and age estimation (mostly sex). I have a link for two videos for you to watch: Human Indentification: Age Determination & Human Indentification: Sex Determination.
Feel free to watch any other videos, if they interest you or you think they might be helpful in your studying.
Lab Exercises, Self-Tests, and in-class activity sheets are due tomorrow. None due for today.

Course Description
Three hours lab per week. This course provides an introduction to laboratory
methods used in research in physical (biological) anthropology.
Topics include the classification, biology, and behavior of living primates,
human skeletal and physiological anatomy, human genetics, methods
of phylogenetic reconstruction, and evidence for the evolutionary history
of humans and other primates. Emphasis is on practical experience.
Students will examine skeletal materials from living and extinct primates,
participate in experiments to illustrate analytical techniques used in modern
physical anthropology, and observe the behavior of living primates
through field trip and/or audio visual resources. In addition to laboratory
exercises, one short research paper will be required. (CSU) (UC)
